New features and software updates (Nov. '15)

People like to be praised. So we would like to give you the opportunity to compliment our developers on making another great piece of software.

t goes without saying that they worked hard to make your life a bit easier and more comfortable. Let's take a look at what has changed over the past couple of months.

Cloud Account - A.K.A. Self-service rendering

As you probably know, most of the rendering process on our farm is automated. You can easily upload your files straight from your 3D app using our plugin. Then, in Web Manager, you can set up your rendering and download the frames back to your desktop. Cloud rendering with 3ds Max, Lightwave, Modo, Blender and Terragen has never been easier.

What you probably didn’t know is that we are about to roll out the same easy process to another widely popular app – Maya. It’s still in the beta stage, but it already works well for all basic setups with Mental Ray, V-Ray and Arnold. You can download the plugin when you log into Web Manager to give it a try. Our Own WebChat

Do you remember the 21st September – the day when Skype crashed? Many people all around the world were affected and likely frustrated by it. Fortunately, it didn’t disturb communication between you and GarageFarm.NET. We could still talk on our reliable webchat.

Now you can get in touch with us right when you need us without the need of using any third party apps. The chat app is available both online in Web Manager and in the desktop app renderBeamer. You can also use it on multiple devices all at once.

As a bonus, you can also use some cool emoticons. No one will express your emotions better than Matilda, our cow mascot.

New look of Web Manager

For many of you it isn’t a surprise anymore that our Web Manager looks kind of different to what it did when we initially deployed it back in August 2014. We have spent several months on rethinking the overall design of the dashboard with two things in mind: simplicity and usability. And we believe we have achieved both those goals. However, ultimately, we invite you to be the judge of it.

Thanks and talk to you again soon!
